Luke Reiner spent much of his childhood helping his grandparents raise corn on irrigated farmland. Those experiences instilled in him a deep appreciation for hard work, service, agriculture, and the values that sustain rural communities.
Luke enlisted in the Nebraska National Guard at 19 while attending Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska. He later earned degrees in Accounting and Education, received his commission through the ROTC program at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and moved to Wyoming in 1987 to begin his career as a Certified Public Accountant. Soon after arriving in Casper, he joined the Wyoming Army National Guard and began a lifetime of public service to the state.
Over a 36-year military career, Luke served in positions of increasing responsibility, participated in multiple state emergency responses, and completed an overseas combat deployment. In 2011, Governor Matt Mead selected him to serve as Wyoming’s Adjutant General, where he led the Wyoming Military Department and oversaw the readiness, training, and support of approximately 3,000 service members.
Following his retirement from the military, Luke served as Director of the Wyoming Department of Transportation, helping oversee critical infrastructure and public safety initiatives across the state. Throughout his career, he has remained focused on service, accountability, and strengthening Wyoming for future generations.
